Payment Terms & Conditions
Chalak Khata — a product by Yaanpedia Technology Pvt Ltd (brand: CarVach)

1. Definitions
- "Company", "We", "Us" refers to Yaanpedia Technology Pvt Ltd, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, operating under the brand name CarVach, with registered office at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
- "App" refers to the Chalak Khata mobile application and its web version accessible at chalak.app.
- "User", "You", "Subscriber" refers to any individual (driver, fleet owner, or other professional) who registers and/or subscribes to the App.
- "Pro Subscription" or "Pro Plan" refers to the paid tier of the App offering enhanced features including unlimited AI coach sessions, unlimited receipt scanning, and advanced analytics.
- "Payment Processor" refers to Razorpay Software Pvt Ltd, the third-party payment gateway used to process all transactions.
- "Billing Cycle" refers to the recurring period (Monthly or Yearly) for which the subscription is purchased.
2. Subscription Plans & Pricing

Important: All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes. Prices may be revised with 30 days' prior notice. Existing subscribers will be charged the new price only upon their next renewal.
- A 7-day free trial of Pro is available once per user. No payment is required during the trial. The trial does not auto-convert to a paid subscription.
- Promotional or discounted pricing shown on the App is valid only at the time of purchase and does not guarantee the same price at renewal.
3. Payment Processing
- All payments are processed by Razorpay in compliance with RBI (Reserve Bank of India) guidelines and PCI-DSS standards.
- We accept UPI, Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Net Banking, and Razorpay-supported wallets.
- The Company does not store, access, or process your card/bank details. All sensitive financial data is handled exclusively by Razorpay.
- Upon successful payment, a confirmation is displayed in-app and the Pro subscription is activated immediately.
- Payment failures due to network issues, insufficient funds, or bank declines do not activate the subscription. No amount will be deducted for failed payments. If a deduction occurs without confirmation, it will be automatically reversed by Razorpay within 5–7 business days.
4. Subscription Activation & Duration
- The Pro subscription activates immediately upon successful payment verification.
- Monthly Plan: Valid for 30 days from the date of purchase.
- Yearly Plan: Valid for 365 days from the date of purchase.
- Subscription status, remaining tokens, and expiry date are visible in the App at all times.
- Upon expiry, the account automatically reverts to the Free plan. No automatic renewal or recurring charge occurs unless explicitly initiated by the User.
5. No Automatic Recurring Billing
Chalak Khata does NOT use auto-debit, standing instructions, or recurring billing. Each subscription purchase is a one-time manual payment. When your plan expires, you must manually renew by making a new payment. We will never charge your payment method without your explicit action.
6. Refund Policy
6.1 Full Refund (within 48 hours)
- If you are unsatisfied with the Pro subscription, you may request a full refund within 48 hours of purchase, provided you have used fewer than 10 AI tokens during this period.
- To request a refund, email support@chalak.app with your registered phone number and payment ID (shown in the App).
6.2 No Refund (after 48 hours)
- After 48 hours from purchase, or if more than 10 AI tokens have been used, no refund will be issued.
- Unused days or tokens at the end of a billing cycle are not refundable, transferable, or convertible to cash.
6.3 Technical Failure Refund
- If a payment is deducted but the subscription is not activated due to a technical error, the amount will be refunded in full within 5–7 business days after verification.
- If automatic refund does not occur, contact support@chalak.app with your payment receipt.
7. Cancellation
- Since there is no auto-renewal, there is no "cancellation" in the traditional sense. Simply do not make a new payment when your plan expires.
- There is no penalty or fee for letting your subscription lapse.
- Upon expiry, your data (trips, expenses, goals) is retained indefinitely on the Free plan. You do not lose any recorded data.
8. Free Trial Terms
- Each user is entitled to one (1) free trial of 7 days.
- The trial grants 200 AI tokens and full Pro features.
- The trial does not require any payment information.
- The trial does not auto-convert to a paid plan. At the end of 7 days, the account reverts to Free.
- Creating multiple accounts to abuse the trial is a violation of these terms and may result in account suspension.
9. User Obligations
- You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a subscription.
- You are responsible for ensuring that the payment method used belongs to you or that you have authorization to use it.
- You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose, to manipulate or abuse the AI features, or to attempt to reverse-engineer the payment flow.
- You acknowledge that AI-generated insights, suggestions, and analytics are advisory in nature and the Company bears no liability for decisions made based on them.
10. Data & Privacy
- Payment data is processed by Razorpay and governed by Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
- Personal data collected by the App (name, phone number, trip/expense records) is governed by our Privacy Policy.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Your subscription status and payment history are stored securely and are accessible only to you and authorized support staff.
11. Service Availability & Limitations
- The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
- We strive for 99.5% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
- AI features depend on third-party AI providers. Occasional degradation in quality or availability may occur due to upstream service limitations.
- In the event of prolonged service outage (more than 72 consecutive hours), affected Pro subscribers may request a pro-rated credit for the downtime period.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Company's total liability for any claim arising from the subscription shall not exceed the amount paid by the User in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of earnings, data, or business opportunities.
- The Company is not responsible for losses arising from reliance on AI-generated advice, network failures, device issues, or third-party payment processing errors.
13. Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes arising from payments or subscriptions shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably by contacting support@chalak.app.
- If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with the seat of arbitration in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
- The arbitration shall be conducted by a sole arbitrator mutually appointed by both parties.
- The language of arbitration shall be English.
- The courts of Bengaluru shall have exclusive jurisdiction for any matters not subject to arbitration.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, in particular:
- The Information Technology Act, 2000 and its amendments
- The Consumer Protection Act, 2019
- The Reserve Bank of India's guidelines on digital payments
- The Indian Contract Act, 1872
15. Amendments
- The Company reserves the right to amend these terms at any time.
- Material changes (pricing, refund policy) will be communicated via in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect.
- Continued use of the App after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
- The latest version of these terms is always available at chalak.app/payment-terms.
16. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
